Banging it around on the left or right seat makes no difference to the watch-- it looks like the day it came out of the box. You can get a beautiful strap for 20 bucks or 300. The Buffalo leather strap on the 16030 with Roman dial was a 20 dollar strap about 15 years ago. The black Croc on the TOG was 160 a similar number of years ago. You can get many years out of leather, just avoid sweating like a pig while wearing them. :)
